Clarapetra began on the road during a stretch of crossing the country and living out of a car. What started as an experiment in lyrics, sound, and image became an evolving artist with its own voice, visual language, and mythology.
AI systems are part of the instrument, but the center remains human: memory, survival, desire, loneliness, humor, and the momentum of continuing forward. John Farmer directs the writing, music, imagery, motion, and interactive systems as a single, continuously evolving project.
The current Pretty Machine era pushes Clarapetra into a glossy late-night future: psychedelic Latin space disco and funk, cyber-romantic electro-funk, glitch-pop, driving sub-bass, retro-futurist synths, and cinematic electronic production.
“Using machines to say something human.”
